About WMU

Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) inspires and equips women to influence the world for Christ. Our “lead foot” steps out toward women of all ages, our “heart” beats for missions, and our “eyes” remain focused on developing the leaders of tomorrow.  Our desire is to walk alongside you as you discover and pursue the path God has for your life–helping you find opportunities to serve Him with your passions and your gifts.

WMU’s unwavering focus is making disciples of Jesus who live on mission.

Our Mission

Missions discipleship is for everyone - from preschoolers to adults. WMU provides resources for all ages designed to help you make disciples of Jesus who live on mission.

We invite you to discover an active, authentic faith through our biblically sound learning opportunities and meaningful missions experiences by:

  • providing missions discipleship resources for churches and individuals,

  • offering opportunities to engage with compassion ministries, and

  • equipping people through leadership development experiences

About HerMission

HerMission is a statewide movement in Virginia equipping the church to join in God’s work - locally and globally. Formerly known as Woman’s Missionary Union of Virginia (WMUV), our roots go back to 1874 when women began organizing to support missions in Virginia and beyond.

Today, we continue that legacy by coming alongside churches of all sizes and generations, helping every person find their place in God’s mission.
