Changing Lives - One Sandwich at a Time

LYNDALE BAPTIST CHURCH MARCH 3rd, 2023 (6:30 PM)

Lyndale has a wonderful opportunity to once again, “love mercifully, act justly and walk humbly with our Lord.” There is a need to provide bagged lunches to shelters that care for those that are homeless. Our Missions Committee invites you to participate in sharing God’s love and mercy with the individuals within these shelters.

Our Missions Committee is partnering with other churches in the area to provide lunches on Saturdays to 4 local shelters. Those shelters are Good Samaritan, Liberation Veteran's, Home Again Men’s, and Home Again Women & Children’s Shelters. Good Samaritan is a residential substance abuse rehab center. Liberation Services is a shelter for veterans. Home Again’s two shelters (Men’s and Women/Children) support the homeless by providing temporary shelter as they help them work to secure long term housing.

Other churches participating in this ministry are: All Saints Episcopal, St. Martin’s Episcopal, St. Matthias Episcopal and Second Branch Baptist. We will be providing bagged lunches on the first Saturday, every other month. We begin this ministry in March.

The Missions Committee, along with donations, will provide the food and materials for the bagged lunches. We plan to meet in the Fellowship Hall on FRIDAY, MARCH 3rd at 6:30 pm to put together 150 bagged lunches. The bagged lunches will contain a sandwich with meat and cheese, a salty treat like chips, a sweet treat, a fruit and a napkin. The next morning at 9:30 am, we will gather to pack up the meals and deliver to the shelters.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Join us on Friday, March 3rd at 6:30 pm to make the sandwiches and prep the lunch bags with the fruit, sweet and salty treats. Make a designated offering gift to Missions to help cover the costs of the food.

If you would like to participate or make food donations, call Mary Ellers at (804) 908-1575 or email: maryellers@yahoo.com.
